Jorge Luis Erazo
Bright, fruit-forward single origin from Nariño, Colombia
Tasting Notes
Apricot • Mango • Panela
Las Huertas is a vibrant expression of Nariño’s high-altitude terroir, produced by Jorge Luis Erazo, a next-generation coffee farmer working alongside his family in the mountains of Chachagüí. This coffee reflects both tradition and innovation, a washed process rooted in generations of practice, paired with careful experimentation that brings clarity, sweetness, and complexity to the cup.
We first connected with Jorge on a sourcing trip to Colombia, where his attention to detail and deep respect for quality immediately stood out. His work represents a new wave of Colombian producers: intentional, adaptive, and committed to pushing quality forward while staying grounded in family and place.
In the cup, expect a bright and expressive profile with notes of apricot, mango, and panela. The sweetness is structured and syrupy, supported by a lively fruit acidity that reflects the high elevation and microclimate of Nariño. The finish is clean and lingering, with a soft tropical sweetness that carries through.
This coffee is carefully washed and traditionally processed, with fermentation and drying methods refined through both experience and experimentation. Every step is designed to preserve clarity while enhancing sweetness and complexity.
Like all coffees from Las Huertas, it is harvested by hand by Jorge’s family and local community members, then processed with meticulous care to ensure consistency and quality from farm to export.
