This is a standout lot from our Apothecary Collection. These 180g releases highlight producers who take a more scientific, experimental approach to coffee growing and processing, with a focus on unique varietals and precision.
Jhoan Vergara is a producer we've worked with year over year. Santiago has spent time on Finca Las Flores and has seen firsthand the level of care Jhoan puts into every step of production. We're especially excited to be featuring more of his lots, and this washed Gesha is a beautiful example of what his farm is capable of.
This is a really clean washed Gesha. It's bright and expressive, with tropical notes of mango, pineapple, and tangerine, with a green apple candy sweetness that carries through to the finish.
Gesha is an Ethiopian landrace varietal originally from the Gori Gesha forest. It gained global recognition after its success in Panama in the early 2000s. Since then, producers across Colombia, especially in regions like Huila, have been cultivating it at high elevations.
Colombian Geshas are known for expressing the varietal's florality with added sweetness and structure from the country's terroir.
