Luis Alberto Jojoa is a seasoned coffee producer with more than 20 years of experience as the owner of Finca Perla del Otún. Luis Alberto Jojoa is a returning relationship, and we are excited to see his coffee on our shelves again.

Luis Alberto has had a unique journey in owning a farm. He used to work on his neighbour's farm, and after a lot of hard work, eventually built up the courage to ask his neighbour, Antonio Castro, to sell him a bit of the land. Antonio agreed, and Luis worked to pay for it. In 1994, he finally owned his own coffee farm. Luis has had a lot of progression in quality since his early day. In 2006, he was recognized as Best Producer in Colombia at the Cup of Excellence, where he also set a national record for the highest auction price that year. 

Finca Perla del Otún is a true family-run venture, with most of Luis’s children—and even his grandchildren—deeply involved in daily operations. The farm is dedicated to cultivating exceptional Pink Bourbon coffee, known for its refined balance and expressive cup profile.

The Jojoa family’s signature processing approach centers on cumulative cherry batch fermentations, carried out exclusively on weekends. This allows the weekdays to be devoted to harvesting and preparation for wet processing, a rhythm that ensures both precision and consistency. The result is a coffee distinguished by its delicate notes of chamomile, mandarin orange, and crisp green grape—a reflection of both meticulous craftsmanship and the rich terroir of Finca Perla del Otún.
