Our Apothecary collection is a collection from exceptional producers of competition level coffees. Our new Apothecary bags are designed to exude the quality that exists from the incredible producers we get to taste coffee from.
We first tasted Percy's coffee on a cupping table with Apex in Montreal where Kristen B and Sebastian had the opportunity to compete in a Canadian National Brewer's Cup and National Cup Taster's Competition. The competitions are not only a great opportunity to grow skills, but also a great place to connect with other coffee professionals in the industry. When we tried this Gesha from Percy, we knew we had to buy it!
Percy Huaman Pintado owns a 5-hectare farm in Alto Ihuamaca, San Ignacio, Peru. He is a third generation coffee farmer. Through his experience, care, and generational knowledge, he was able to submit his Gesha to the Cup of Excellence in 2023. The farm. "Rayos del Sol" is a testament to how he works. He believes in hope, resilience, and always seeing light on the horizon.
Percy is very meticulous with his processing of his coffee. They are harvested at their peak maturity, de-pulped, washed and dried for 15-20 days.
This is our first release from Peru, and we are pleased to share this delicious coffee from San Ignacio. San Ignacio is on the Ecuadorian border. There is a plethora of coffee cultivation in this area. This gesha was grown at an altitude of 1600m-1775m. The washed process create a delicious profile of jasmine tea, mandarin orange, honey and a delightful tropical coconut aftertaste! The tropical, delicate flavours of this coffee are to get excited about!
