Alejandro Montelegre is a small producer from Palermo in Huila. He only has two varietals, Castillo and Colombia, on his farm which he combined for this lot. The region between valleys and the Magdelena River means that coffee only grows above 1600masl. Los Naranjos is located at 1650masl. Alejandro grows Castillo and Colombia varietals, which are both rust resistant varieties. Rust is a plague that can really affect a farmer's yield, so these varieties help keep farming yields high. These varieties also have a higher yield of large cherries. He takes pride in producing washed coffees which his farm is well set up for. He has done a 60 hour fermentation followed by a full wash.
