Robert Antonio Miramag grows his coffee on Inca el Ganso, in the volcanic soils of Narino in Yacuanquer. His 1.5 hectare farm has over 5000 Caturra trees and has been growing coffee in his family for over 20 years. He grows his coffee at 2000 masl. He's done a lot of improvements on the farm over the last year, and is careful not to let the Caturra cherries over ripen at this high elevation. Picking happens every 15 days to ensure the ripest ones are being selected, before being fermented for 1-2 days and then washed, then dried 5-10 days on a patio.
Robert and his family also grow avocado, plantains, oranges, and cherimoya. This fruit is a white fleshed South American fruit also known as a custard apple or sugar apple. These crops help supplement their income and help the land regenerate around the coffee plants. With his new coffee plants, he is committed to producing even higher quality over the next few years.
This delicious washed coffee tastes like pineapple, red apple, dates, and brown sugar. and if you are missing La Familia, you will love this coffee!
