This is a delicious washed coffee that has a lot of tea-like complexity. Finca El Carrizo is a high altitude farm in Yacquanquer, Narino. Don Jaime has many years of experience growing coffee, and has a strong relationship with his family and the community around him. Jaime works along his wife, Marta Cecilia. They believe in working every day, and have been since 1979. They've raised their granddaughter on the farm, and take pride in supporting her education. Their hard work in both the farm and raising their family combined is their greatest achievement. They see their lives as a reflection of resilience.
This Colombia varietal was grown at 2000 masl, was fermented a traditional 18+25 hours before being fully washed and dried. It was dried using parabolic methods to regulate the moisture removal. This coffee is complex, clean and sweet. It reminds us of red apple, earl grey tea, and butter tart. Enjoy Jaime Guillermo's sweet treat of a washed Colombian coffee.

Fun fact about the Colombia varietal: Also known as “Variedad Colombia”, this varietal was developed by Colombian researchers at Cenicafe by crossing Caturra and Timor HybridReleased in 1982, it was designed to combat the anticipated outbreak of the leaf rust fungus in Colombia. It’s development is credited with saving the Colombian coffee industry from serious damage when the fungus eventually reached Colombia in the mid-80’s.
