Roger Baos- The story of our visit to his farm

Back in 2019, on one of our sourcing trips to Colombia, we met a coffee producer who left an unforgettable mark on us: Roger Baos, his partner Noralba, and their son Robinson, of Finca Las Delicias. That first visit not only connected us with an incredible Pink Bourbon coffee but also began a direct relationship that we are proud to continue today.

Our First Visit
To reach Roger’s farm, we traveled an hour and a half outside of Pitalito into the mountains, arriving at the small hamlet of Esmeralda. Roger, his family, and their neighbors welcomed us warmly—the first specialty coffee roasters ever to visit his farm.
Roger and Robinson walked us through their 3.5-acre farm, showing us the rows of Pink Bourbon they cultivate with such care and dedication. When the tour finished, we were invited into their home where Noralba graciously served us hot cocoa and crackers as we talked and learned more about their life on the farm.
When it was time to leave, Robinson jumped on his motorbike and led us down the winding mountain roads for nearly half an hour so we could descend safely. That simple gesture summed up the kindness and hospitality of the Baos family.

Building a Direct Relationship
That visit in 2019 marked the first time Roger’s coffee had been purchased directly by a specialty roaster. Since then, although we haven’t been able to return to his farm, we’ve continued to buy his coffee year after year. Each purchase strengthens our partnership and ensures Roger can receive sustainable prices that support his family and allow his farm to grow.
The Coffee
Roger’s farm, Finca Las Delicias, is located in Acevedo, Huila, at 1,700 masl, where he cultivates 30,000 coffee trees. He specializes exclusively in Pink Bourbon, with a focus on producing extended fermentation washed coffees.
This lot is a standout, with tasting notes of:
-
Tangerine
-
Hibiscus
-
Red Plum
-
Honey
It’s vibrant, complex, and layered—a true reflection of Roger’s passion and expertise.
Now Available
Roger’s coffee is back on our shelves, and it’s as outstanding as ever. Because his lot is small, we won’t have it for long—so don’t miss the chance to experience the care, dedication, and hospitality of Roger, Noralba, and Robinson in every cup.
