It started on a family farm in Colombia.
Founders Santiago and Kristin found their calling at Finca Santa Rita, Santiago's family farm in Colombia. What began as a deep love for Colombian coffee and a desire to share it became The Colombian.
In 2017 we launched as a micro roastery at local Edmonton farmers' markets. By 2018 we had grown into a full-service coffee shop with an on-site roastery. Today we have seven locations across Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and Saskatoon, plus a coffee truck. We travel to Colombia every year to source from small producers we know by name, and we continue to purchase our Uncle Felipe's coffee from Finca Santa Rita.

We buy directly from small producers.
We source our coffee directly, ourselves. There is no intermediary between us and the producers who grow it. We have a quality control specialist on the ground in Colombia, and we build every relationship with our producers directly.
We want these relationships to last, so we pay consistently profitable prices and stay with our producers for the long term. Every coffee we carry is named after the producer who grew it, and our selection rotates because these producers grow smaller lots.
